Delbert Adams
Delbert Adams has been in the Baltimore construction marketplace since 1986, and has received local, regional and national recognition for his exemplary work. His reputation for outstanding construction services while, his strong relationship and team building skills work in tandem with years of building and renovating homes and offices along the East Coast.



During the 21 years as owner of Ilex Construction and Development, Adams earned national recognition and widespread local accolades for his accomplishments at the highest level of residential and specialty commercial construction. He specializes in architectural millwork and the finest cabinetry in both a commercial and residential capacity. He was recognized as Remodeler of the Year by the HBAM. 



Adams is a graduate of Babson College in Wellesley Massachusetts, a member of the American Institute of Architects, the Home Builders Association of Maryland, and the Baltimore Rotary Club. He is active with the Maryland Historical Society and a member of The Greater Baltimore Medical Center Foundation Board. When away from the office, he enjoys golf, squash and coaching girl’s high school ice hockey.

Taylor Classen
Taylor Classen brings leadership abilities, project management skills and strong business insight to Delbert Adams Construction Group. Classen serves as a partner, vice president and manager of the Baltimore and Middleburg offices.



In 1988, Classen joined Ilex Construction & Development, Inc, working as a project manager. He left Ilex in 1993 to return to graduate school, and earned an MBA in 1996 from the University of Maryland at College Park. Classen then joined Alex Brown Realty, Inc., serving as an Asset Manager. In 2001, he rejoined Ilex as its Chief Operating Officer. 



Classen was born in Baltimore and attended the Gilman School. He earned a Bachelor of Arts from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in1986. While at the University of North Carolina, Classen was a member of the 1986 NCAA National Championship lacrosse team and was recognized as the team’s “unsung hero”. He currently serves on the Board of Trustees of the Gilman School, holds the office of Treasurer of The Elkridge Club and is a Graduate Master Builder and Certified Graduate Remodeler
John Fink
John Fink
With more than 30 years in Financial Management, Accounting, Human Resources and Information Systems in the Construction Industry, Fink excels as the Chief Financial Officer of Delbert Adams Construction Group. He supports the team of Project Managers with budget vs. actual reporting data and provides management reporting data regularly to Adams and Classen. While running the day to day accounting systems and procedures, he keeps his eye on the large vision to ensure the company’s future success.

Fink received his Bachelor of Science in Accounting and his Master of Science in Finance from the American University in Washington DC.

He currently serves on the Board of Directors of the ARC of Harford County and is a Former Board Member for Cystic Fibrosis, Alzheimer Association and Susan G. Komen Foundation.

He has co-authored , Accounting Manual for the Aggregates Industry.

He is an avid tennis player and ranked with the USTA, enjoys time with his wife, 4 children and 6 grandchildren.
