Instructions For Living A Life

“Instructions for living a life:
Pay attention.
Be astonished.
Tell about it.
— “Sometimes,” a poem by Mary Oliver

There are a lot of things that we can’t control- We can’t change the weather, predict the ebb and flow of the economy, or manage how those around us act. But, we can control how we respond to the things that happen to us and how we choose to see the world around us.

In her many poems, Mary Oliver encourages us to be present, to take in the world with all our senses, and then share those joys or observations with others. So, how can your space change how you live your life? Take a peek below. Then, this weekend, seek out one thing to be astonished by!

Pay attention.

Your indoor and outdoor space can either make you feel overwhelmed/overstimulated or calm and focused, we prefer the latter.

Be Astonished.
Take a moment to really see the little details in your space, how can textures, colors, or unique objects give you a sense of wonder and make you truly engaged?

Tell about it.
Create space to share your joy with your loved ones, open your house and spread the attention and astonishment you found.
